The concept of marriage is to establish a relationship between the husband and wife. According to old Hindu Laws, marriage is the formal ceremony and is a religious tie that can not be broken.

All the provisions of Hindu law shall apply to Hindus including Sikh, Jains and Buddhists as defined in Section 2 of Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
